How to Create YouTube Handle on My Channel

Dear friends, talking about after a long time. Hope you all are well.

YouTube has told the new features yesterday. If you are a creator then it will completely change your YouTube experience.

So let's talk about it.

First you read the mail that came yesterday, then I will tell you how it is going to affect you.

Hello,
We're writing to let you know that over the coming weeks YouTube will be introducing handles to make it easier for members of the community to find and connect with each other. Your handle will be unique to your channel and will be how people mention you in comments, community posts, and more.

Here’s what you need to know:
We're gradually rolling out the ability to choose a handle for all channels over the coming weeks, and you will receive another email and a notification in YouTube Studio when you’re able to choose yours. In most cases, if you already have a personalized URL for your channel, we’ve reserved this for you as your handle. If you want a different handle from the one we’ve reserved, you can change it. If you don’t already have a personalized URL today, you’ll also be able to choose a handle for your channel.

Starting on November 14, 2022, if you haven’t yet selected a handle for your channel, YouTube will automatically assign you a handle, which you can change in YouTube Studio if you'd like.

As shown in the above email, these features will start working from the 14th.

What will be the benefit out of this?

So the biggest thing, now the fake channels will be closed. There will be no problem in identifying the channel, which channel is the original.

Who will get this facility?

Currently, YouTube has not issued any such guideline that there will be any criteria for this. So at the moment it will be applicable to everyone's YouTube channel.

After two days you can watch it in your YouTube studio.

What is YouTube Handle?

Handles are a way for you to find and connect with creators on YouTube. Handles are unique and short channel identifiers separate from channel names, and they start with the “@” symbol. For example, @giteshsharma, @giteshsharmalive or @giteshgeeky

Handle naming guidelines:

Your handle must follow these guidelines:

• Is between 3-30 characters
• Is made up of alphanumeric characters (A-Z, a-z, 1-9)
• Your handle can also include: underscores (_), hyphens (-), periods (.)
• Is not URL-like or phone number-like
• Is not already being used
• Follows YouTube's Community Guidelines

Note: YouTube reserves the right to change, reclaim, or remove a handle at any time.

This note will give proof of what I told above, that YouTube handle will close or ban the fake or duplicate channel after lunch. Because YouTube has all the rights to terminate and delete the channel.

As YouTube itself has told that by default the custom url of the channel will become the channel handle, so go to your YouTube studio and try this method.

How to create or view or change a YouTube handle?

You’ll be notified in YouTube Studio and by email when you can choose your handle.

• Go to youtube.com/handle on a computer or on a mobile device with the YouTube app.
• If you don’t have the YouTube app installed, you’ll be prompted to download it.
• Select Choose handle or Change handle.

• You may already have a reserved handle based on your custom URL.
• Type in the handle field to check the availability of your preferred handle.
• You can also choose one of the suggested handles, or the pre-filled handle based on your channel name.
• Once you’ve found an available handle, click Confirm selection.

If your preferred handle isn’t available, it’s usually because of another channel already selected that handle.
